Blue Economy and Fisheries

Landing sites facilitates fishing communities with efficient processing, storage, and distribution of catches, enhancing economic opportunities and livelihoods for local fishermen. The Cabinet Secretary Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs Hon Salim Mvurya together with the PS Blue Economy and Fisheries Madam Betsy Muthoni joined the President during the commissioning of the new Mulukoba landing Sites in Budalangi Busia County. The landing site will benefit more than 400 fishermen in L. Victoria. Two Women in Blue Economy groups were presented with cheques worth 56 million each during the event. The President was accompanied by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, area leaders Busia Governor Paul Otwoma, MPs Raphael Wanjala Budalangi, Ndidi Nyoro Kiharu,Gedion Ochanda Bodo, Emasse Teso South among others.
